Peter Dvorský International Music Festival is a unique summer festival which is held in the interior and exterior setting of chateaux in Třebíč area since 1999. Every year the festival attracts thousands of listeners to Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, Dukovany, Valeč near Hrotovice and to the historical brewery in Dalešice. Festival that is backed by Peter Dvorský, one of the greatest 20th century tenors, strives to follow up on the music fame of Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou established by the Questenberg family already in the Baroque era. Voice, as dramaturgic concept, enables the festival organisers to invite ensembles pursuing different genres, from opera to stars of Czech show business.
Yet, the opera gala concerts staged in the Jaroměřice Chateaux garden, with its amphitheatre capacity of up to 3000 spectators, remain the pride of the festival. Probably the greatest event of such kind was the performance of the legendary sopranos Montserrat Caballé in 2010 and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa in 2012. In addition to Peter Dvorský himself, the eminent performers of individual years comprised many globally renowned opera singers: Miriam Gauci, Ilona Tokody, Yelena Obraztsova, Gabriela Beňačková, Eva Urbanová, Gegham Grigorian, Miroslav Dvorský or Peter Mikuláš.
Quite often the final concerts of the festival are connected with multimedia projects prepared by the leading Czech fireworks company Flash Barrandov SFX where the projects skilfully intersperse three key elements: architecture, music and visual impressions. Staging the pyrotechnic effects in the architecture of unique Baroque milieu of Jaroměřice Chateaux and its garden is incomparable and its originality has no parallel in the Czech Republic.
